The most effective fix for this static electricity interference problem is to open the key transmitter and custom-cut and fit a micro-thin sheet of computer component static film over the circuit board inside the key, then reassemble your key. And also no problems with either the Peugeot or Ford thats in the same driveway. I bought it with 2 smart keys…. Now while this was all going on the Low Fuel warning light was on as expected as I was waiting for that to happen just to check all was in order. You can also use a desktop computer, but since we are going to be connecting it to your car, it may not be the most practical solution.
I tried it several more times and it would work sometimes and sometimes not. Which never happens btw, they just really want you to buy their keys… Troubleshooting Tips. Pushing my luck click it unlocked but only if stood at the filler cap. I have since disconnected the battery twenty minutes prior to the publication of this post. I really did not expect this to happen in a Lexus.
A set of reprogrammed Lexus key fobs. Good Luck It only appears to be on my path at home at the moment, but has been fine for 9 months so not sure why its only just happening- really bothered it will let me down else where surely there must be a fix - I have read some owners have had the transponder units changed - anyone any idea if that seems to fix the problem?? This happened to me when I first got the car in April but it started working fine in about a day. I mean I never had this trouble with my Ford or Peugeot, although admittedly they did have major problems in other areas. I have techstream software and cable. I asked lexus for that, and they said it would cost me around 500-600£. I had no problems with the locking whatsoever until the evening day before yesterday when I had trouble locking it with the button on the door handle.
Do it at your own risk. Otherwise they'll just surf the internet all day. Hi Guys, I would like to chime in on this issue. This happened to me when I first got the car in April but it started working fine in about a day. No problems before, lived in the same house for years with no issues.
When I walk up to the car to unlock it by using the doorhandles sensor with the key in my pocket the car will not unlock. Place your existing registered key in the vehicle and remove the keys to be registered 1 foot 30 cm away from the vehicle. Also anyway of stopping the alarm sounding when I use the manual key as early in a morning its beyond a joke!!!!!!!!!!!!! Once inside the vehicle, you can place the key fob flat againsts the start button. When my wife and I are together and uses her remote after mine has failed, the car locks as it should. My key fob does not always function correctly. Mine will work for the unlock function. We hope these programming instructions were helpful and saved you a lot of money.
My new Lexus is coming tomorrow and if it gets effected by the radio waves and wireless routers down my street it will be very embarrassing indeed as i proberly be the only one in wembley to have a new lexus, , i may have to call my friend to tell him to switch off his internet so i switch on my car, 22k car and dont switch on : , we wait and see. Has been fine for last 6 months then 2 days ago it all hit the fan!! Subsequently I was stuck there as there is no manual overide for turning on the ignition. I really did not expect this to happen in a Lexus. They couldnt give any other explaination but said it was a common fault. Thanks much for this post. I had no problems with the locking whatsoever until the evening day before yesterday when I had trouble locking it with the button on the door handle. Going around and holding up for a second thing does reset it but not in this case, aparently there's a combination on the remote that will cause a malfunction with the radio detectors codes.
It seems like they found all these issues, which would commonly be labelled as bugs or defects by project managers and testers, and instead of fixing them have simply decided to list them as warnings in the user manual. Otherwise, you will have to find someone to unlock it for you, like your local Locksmith or hardware store though very often they will refuse to do that and offer to buy their keys instead. Did yours make the list? I have experienced this annoying problem with two completely different vehicles over the years. You should be able to test your remote out of the key fob after you clean stuff up before you put it all back together. Can you provide the answers I need, or shall I be your guinea pig and give it a try anyway? And all this within a week of getting it brand spanking new! If there is, use the eraser on the back of a pencil to clean them up. After reading the manual and inspecting the surounding area I noticed some wireless Internet arials that may have been the cause of this. This is where we need some tighter controls and regs to resolve the issue.
Perhaps your car will just sort itself out like mine!! Also anyway of stopping the alarm sounding when I use the manual key as early in a morning its beyond a joke!!!!!!!!!!!!! I had to drive using the next to the start button and opening and locking car using metal key for some days. I had taken the remote key all apart earlier and cleaned it thoroughly Got a new battery and it is still functioning flawlessly almost 3 years later, on that same battery. Some dealers can also do that for you too but make sure you call them first. I'm like, did you not hear me, this car did it all by itself, the window did not fall, it did not break. Step 3 - Bargain hunt for a new key fob You might find a cheaper key on eBay that will come in handy, especially if your key fob has been misplaced. You already have a key.
