Do they also fail to notice that there is no evidence of the injuries that would have occurred had she lost copious amounts of blood at the initial kidnapping? By the end I just wanted someone to firebomb the house and kill the pair of them. I could go on and on but just read the other truthful reviews they will point out most of the other glaring mistakes and downright intelligence insulting nonsense. As he supposedly leaves the house with an at best barely conscious Amy, Desi picks up her diary, takes it to her father-in-law's place and attempts to burn it in the furnace. I could go on, but I realized before the movie was halfway over that I had already wasted too much of my life on it. Desi is supposed to have broken into the house, beat her bloody and kidnapped her. He then kept her a prisoner, starved and raped her. Can nobody attest to Desi's being at home during the time he was supposed to be kidnapping Amy? But horrifying and scary, so be warned. No one even looks for any wounds or asks about her wellbeing and she is not treated for any wounds.
How does she get into and out of the shed without her sister-in-law who doesn't like her noticing? With his wife's disappearance having become the focus of an intense media circus, a man sees the spotlight turned on him when it's suspected that he may not be innocent. The shed is where her husband sometimes has liaisons with another woman. Amy buys lots of tech toys and crams her sister-in-law's shed with them. How does she get to it when she needs it without being seen? Please do not waste your time or money on this nonsense. The movie tries to tell you that she is highly intelligent, and meticulously plans to fake her own murder and frame her husband for it.

Neither character makes you like them or hate them.

I really struggled with the book and found it incredulous so never finished it but the film was getting good reviews so I thought I'd give it a go. Just wanted to make this comment about the film I dont usually post anything about films its a damn good film, really worth watching.
